- Arnold Seuren died at West Hollandtown on Friday last of old age. Deceased was born in Linburg, Europe, Jan. 21, 1797, making him 98 years old at the time of his death.
He came to America in 1870 and settled in West Holland town, where he has resided ever since being a successful farmer. He was the grandfather of Mrs. Wm Huls of this village.
Three daughters remain in this country, and four daughters and two sons remain in the old country, making nine children. Of the grandchildren there are eighteen living in this country and thirty-one in the old country, making the total of forty-nine grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren all whom reside in this country with the exception of three.
The funeral occurred at West Hollandtown on Tuesday from the Francis Catholic Church.
The aged gentleman was able to be about and help himself up to nearly the last day. Mrs. Huls received a postal card written by him about a week before his death in which he said he did not think he would see his 98th year. On Tuesday of last week deceased ceased taking nourishment and ate nothing more from that time when he quietly passed away on Friday last.
